Collecting watercolours

Watercolours are highly collectable.  They display well when framed and are easy to store.  Properly looked after they will retain their original beauty for generations.

Many people also build collections so, when a group of painting are created at much the same time, or share a common theme, our Gallery will often keep them together as a ‘unique collection' available only for purchase as a single unit. They are are usually sold in mats and often in a special conservation and display case so that they can be stored or even locked away for security.

While we cannot guarantee the resale value of our works, but the value of our artword has risen continuously for the past 20 years. Consequently, private and corporate buyers often purchase with their eye on the future.

At the same time, most art-lovers do build collections gradually with single paintings or smaller numbers of works.   Art-works should ‘speak to each other' within a building and so we are happy to help buyers with the display their artworks ensuring that, for example, a larger painting is echoed by its smaller companion works across a room or building (like rocks in a zen garden).

We encourage those who are considering a purchase to 'enjoy before buying' (certainly here on the website and, if possible, in person) for the best way to build a suite of paintings is to see how each work relates to its companions. We're happy to help with advice and to welcome visitors to our studio gallery - but please arrange a time by phoning first.  We're also happy to open our Collection electronically (insofar as we can) for overseas or interstate buyers.

Past collections have included : groups of figurative and non-figurative works for corporate buildings, hotels, hospitals and medical clinics; suites of watercolours for homes; designs for high fashion kimonos and many works grouped by the artist on a common theme.

We hope to display collections within this website in future.  When prices are shown they will always reflect current valuation.
